PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and a moving route producing method of tool which can move the front end of a tool in a constant speed while maintaining the orthogonal posture of the tool to the outer surface of a work, when the front end of the tool is made to follow a circular arc track along the outer surface of the work. SOLUTION: The front end of a tool 18 moves at a constant speed along a circular arc track 41. In this case, the posture of the tool 18 is rotated around the front end of the tool 18, at a rotating angular speed same as the angular speed around the curvature center 36 following to the movement. As a result, the tool 18 can maintain the orthogonal posture to the outer surface of a work 14. By moving the front end of the tool 18 along circular tracks 42 and 43 circumscribed to the circular arc track 41, a sudden acceleration and decellation are made unnecessary to the moving speed of the front end of the tool 18 at the starting point and the ending point. The front end of the tool 18 can move at a constant speed on the circular arc track 41 as maintaining the orthogonal posture of the tool 18.
