PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly cool materials which are different in shape such as a wide-flange shape steel and an angle steel with a simple equipment. SOLUTION: This cooling equipment 1 consists of a guide 2 composed of a pair of side guides 2a, 2b, cooling water nozzles 5a, 5b provided in the pair of side guides 2a, 2b against the outer surface of flanges 4a, 4b to be cooled, hydraulic cylinders 6a, 6b which are mechanisms to incline the pair of side guides 2a, 2b, and cooling water supply units 7a, 7b. Since the surface to be cooled can be accelerate-cooled by appropriately positioning and maintaining the cooling water nozzles 5a, 5b against the outer surface of the flanges to be cooled by means of the hydraulic cylinders 6a, 6b, multiple shape steels which are different in shape such as an H shape steel 3 and an angle steel carried can be uniformly accelerate-cooled with one cooling unit.
