PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a die-cast member with a material having a high melting temp. such as a nickel base superalloy. SOLUTION: This die-cast member is composed of IN718 which is a nickel base superalloy. The microstructure of the member does not contain flowlines and has the fine average grain size of, for instance, ASTM3 or that finer than this. As the illustrative members, gas turbine engine members such as blades, vanes, cases and seals are included.
