<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the appearance and make a level difference in edge portions sufficiently conspicuous to walkers by forming the edge portions of a plurality of protruding portions parallel with the stairs of a staircase and providing the convex portions with a cover layer of a color different from the other portions. SOLUTION: In a synthetic resin or rubber cover member 14 for a staircase, the edge portions are formed of a plurality of protruding portions 2 parallel with the stairs of the staircase, the portions 2 are given cover layers 4 of a color different from the other portions. When manufacturing the cover member 14 for a staircase, a flat synthetic resin sheet is pressed with an embossing roll when irregularities for molding protruding members are formed on the surface of the roll, the cover layer 4 is supplied to the recesses of the embossing roll for overlaying simultaneously with embossing, thereby making the cover layer 4, 0.3 mm or more thick and stabilizing the cover layer 4 for a long period as compared with a painted one.</p> |
