<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having low power consumption and a sleep mode moving function wherein the printer moves into a sleep mode right after the power is supplied thereto. SOLUTION: This printer has a power-on recognizing section 3 that notifies a sleep mode managing section 9 when it detects the power-on. The sleep mode managing section 9 immediately sets a printer engine 7 to be in the sleep mode. For example, a fixing section is maintained in a low temperature so that unnecessary power consumption can be prevented. The moving to the normal sleep mode can be done at the same time by using an idle condition measuring timer 5 and a sleep moving time memory section 6, thereby providing the printer superior in convenience.</p> |
