PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable all of photocatalytic particles to receive direct irradiation with ultraviolet rays and reduce the average particle diameter of the photocatalytic particles to obtain a sufficient catalytic action by providing a photocatalytic particle layer on the surface of a base through a binder layer and at the same time, using fine TiO2 particles with a specified average particle diameter as the photocatalytic particles. SOLUTION: A glaze layer 2 which is a material hardly decomposable by the photocatalytic function of photocatalytic particles is applied to the surface of a tile body 1 as a platelike member which forms a wall face, a floor surface or a ceiling surface. In addition, on the surface of the glaze layer 2, anatase-type TiO2 particles 3 as the photocatalytic particles are sprayed, in a sol form, onto the surface of the glaze layer 2 using a spraygun or the like. Further, after the glaze layer 2 is melted by heat, the melt is cooled and set. Further, Cu or the like may be added to the TiO2 sol to have a sterilization effect. For the addition, CuSO4 for example is added to the TiO2 sol, and the sol is heated within the range of about 300-900 deg.C to form a photocatalytic layer consisting of the anatase-type TiO2 particles on the glaze layer 2. |
