PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect ends of respective downpipes to each other by a short tubular body, such that the downpipes exhibit good appearance, and to prevent rainwater flowing down through the downpipes from flowing to the outside, by forming recesses in the peripheral surface of the short tubular body, for introducing rainwater flowing in a gap between the short tubular body and the downpipe, into the interior of the downpipe. SOLUTION: A projecting bar 3 is arranged on a peripheral surface 2a of a short tubular body 2 at an intermediate location with respect to the tubular length. Ends of respective downpipes 1, 1 are abutted against the projecting bar 3. The downpipe joint 2 has recesses 4,... formed in upper portions of the peripheral surface 2a thereof, for introducing rainwater flowing in a gap between the peripheral surface 2a and an edge internal peripheral surface 1a of the downpipe 1 into the downpipe 1. Thus, the rainwater flowing in the gap between the edge internal peripheral surface 1a of the downpipe 1 and the peripheral surface 2a of the short tubular body 2 is introduced into the downpipe 1 via side openings 41 formed at respective lower portions of the recesses 4 and communicating with the interior of the downpipe 1. Therefore, both the ends of the respective downpipes 1 can be connected to each other while exhibiting good appearance, and rainwater flowing down through the downpipe 1 can be prevented from flowing to the outside.
