PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process the curl portion of a container into a shape fitted to the adhesion of a lid material by relatively small force. SOLUTION: A press roller 341 capable of coming into contact with a part of the curl portion 2c provided to the end edge of a cup main body 2, a wheel 106 as the curl receiving member provided in opposed relation to the press roller 341 so as to hold the curl portion 2c, the air cylinder 340 driving the press roller 341 toward the curl portion 2c so as to hold the curl portion 2c between the press roller 341 and the wheel 106 and a rotary drive mechanism for rotationally driving a cup 1 so that the position where the curl portion 2c is held by the press roller 341 and the wheel 106 changes in the peripheral direction of the cup 1 are provided to a container processing apparatus to gradually process the curl portion 2c in the peripheral direction thereof.
