PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight fishing rod having a rotation preventing function without rotating the fishing rod held with a fishing rod holding device even when a rotating load acts on the fishing rod, and further, a fishing rod capable of properly using a fishing method according to the fishing simply by the single rod. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is equipped with a holding part held by a holding tool having an upper and a lower two curved supporting units 7A and 7B and the cross section of a holding unit 5 which is the holding part is formed into a semielliptical shape so as to prevent the fishing rod from rotating. The lower peripheral surface thereof has contact parts in two sites for the supporting unit 7B.
