A cheese press has a device for stacking, pressing together and separating moulds in the same place. The moulds are shaped for pressing vertically the curds contained in the moulds. The device may have vertically and laterally movable grips for stacking the moulds one at a time and taking them down in the same way. Each mould has a base, an open work part through which serum can escape and a cover with a top plate. When stacked the top plate is adjacent the relatively larger base of the mould above.
