The pouring spout (1) has a part for its detachable fastening to the edge (7) of a can of paint (2) etc. The spout has a mainly flat base (4) defined by two side walls (5,6), which guide the paint (3) towards the front edge (8) of the spout. The spout base rises outwards at an angle of pref. between 15 deg and 30 deg relative to the horizontal opening plane of the can. A recess in the underside of the spout fits over the profile of the container edge. The spout is pref. ejection-molded from plastic, is slightly elastic and resistant against chemicals, esp. paint and solvents.
