Bipolar electrode-electrolyte unit (13) comprises an electrode having a barrier layer (2) and at least two carrier layers (3) and two active layers (1). The active layers (1) are made of a material made of an electroactive material with low resistance and high capacity. The barrier layer (2) is electrically conducting and material impermeable, and is made of sealed and/or impregnated carbon, plastic-bound carbon or carbon-coated metal sheet. An electrically conducting porous three-dimensioned structure of specific geometric surface is formed between barrier layer (2) and carrier layers, which contains carbon fibre paper/foil/mat/web, sealed graphite flakes and carbon fibres, conducting plastic or carbon produced by pyrolysing or dehydrating organic material. The electrolyte (4) is a good conductor. |
