COVER DEVICE FOR VEHICULAR FOOTBOARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover device for footboards that can improve the aerodynamic traveling performance of vehicles without degrading the easiness of passengers' get-on/off property. SOLUTION: A cover 7 is pivoted on the lower end of a vehicular getting-on/off gateway 2 so as to be selectively located between a first pivotal position A where it covers the front opening of a recessed region 3 defined under the gateway 2 in generally vertically flush fashion to shield a footboard 5 along the vehicle exterior and a second pivotal position B where it turns back into the recessed region 3 to expose the footboard 5 to the vehicle exterior. An interlocking means 8, 9 synchronizes the opening/closing motion of a door 1 with the pivotal motion of the cover 7.
