Antioxidative protection is conferred on a substance liable to oxidative deterioration, by admixing it with at least one compound selected from sub-groups ( alpha ), ( beta ) and ( gamma ), namely: ( alpha ) rosmarinic acid; ( beta ) salts of the carboxylic acid function in rosmarinic acid; ( gamma ) esters and amides of the carboxylic acid function in rosmarinic acid; subject to certain provisos.
