The radiography equipment is designed to overcome the difficulties experienced when the source of radiation (10) is fixed and the pipe casts a shadow onto a fixed plate (12). The radiation source is fastened to a frame so that it can be scanned over the pipe and the plate may be held in a frame which permits scanning motions.
