The device moves sheets from a separator track (14) to one of several compiling tracks (26,28). Two separator rollers (34,36) rotate about axis located in a separator plane, which has a component extending mainly at right angles to the separator track. Rotation of the rollers causes the roller centers to move about the axis and define movement tracks for each of the rollers, which partially cross each other and define a common track for the rollers. The compiling tracks are separated by a separator wedge fitted between the separator rollers.
