A static mixer (300) is employed. Its mixing lengths (301, 302), have non-aligned axes. Preferred features: The main distributor (140) is connected to sub-dividers (130), its melt channel (150) branching to them. The component channel (200) discharges into the supply section (151), further branching being detailed. When using several mixers (300), lengths and cross sections of individual mixing sections are the same, to balance flows. A double bend (180 deg ) fitting, returns flow from one end section, into the next, reversing flow direction. Distributor sections are arranged in planes. These are joined together using a vacuum diffusion soldering process. Further details of the construction and static mixing baffles are provided. The component channel is connected to a reservoir and a high pressure pump supplying with adequate pressure, at least reaching that of injection, some 1000-1500 bar. A intermittently-operated solenoid needle valve, terminates the component channel. The solenoid is operated at a frequency of 30-100 cycles/s. Its stroke is 0.1-0.01 mm. The additional component is gaseous, liquid or solid.
