The spacing elements(22,24,36) between the drum's outer and inner housing walls(12,14) are made of elastic material. The inner wall on its two end faces(16,18) is supported in relation to the outer wall by the elastic elements. The inner wall may consist of several sections with elastic spacing elements fitted between the end faces of adjacent sections. The elastic spacing elements are fitted in parallel longitudinal slots on the outer generated surface of the inner housing wall. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for connection of a ceramic inner housing wall of a grinding drum in which elastic spacing elements are cast integrally on the end faces of the hollow cylindrical inner wall of the housing or its sections.
