Rafter heads are fixed by a device (1) in the area of the ridge purlin comprising two pressure plates (5) pivotably located in a U-shaped housing. The plates locate on the upper side of two opposing rafters independently of the roof inclination angle. The housing on the outside of its rib (11) has a guide piece (12) for accommodation of the fixed arm of a screw clamp or is connected with this arm.
