The system has an open transport rail (18) and a cradle (34) with lifting device for a load. It also has longitudinal parallel drive units (28), and two gears, esp. toothed gears (42) in the cradle, acting with the drive units. The gears have esp. a threaded bore (50), with a lifting shaft (20) screwed-in, which can be moved out of the open transport rail. The drive unit may be a spindle, belt drive, geared drive, etc. The system is for use in vehicles and in stationary installations.
