New pipe conduits (33) can be laid in the earth by the equipment which widens earth holes and/or destroys old pipe conduits in the earth. The equipment comprises a displacement tool (28) and a rod (14) extending through it. On the tool, coupling devices (36) work in conjunction with the rod and engaging on the rod is a separate push and pull drive. The tool is provided with a widening cone (29) and has separating blades. In the tool a securing catch (36) is arranged and the tool is connected to a guide tube (32). The rod comprises individual sections provided with projections and/or recesses.
