The gear system (1) consists of a planetary gear stage (2) driven by a rotor (R) and two spur gear stages (3,4). The central gear (15) engaging with the planetary gears (14) is formed in one piece with a gear shaft (20) which carries a gear (19) of the first spur gear stage. The shaft runs in self-aligning bearings (22) and roller bearings (27). The latter are located in a recess (28) in a comparatively thin walled boss (29)
