The master template is for smoothing e.g. gravel before the laying of paving. It is used in combination with a clamp block and suitable for use with conventional smoothing board. It permits large loads to be applied to any smoothing boards. The master consists of a flat steel pressure board (1), with further flat steel sections (3a,b,c) welded to it, a lifting tube (2), and a steel tube (4) with guide bores welded to a flat steel guide (5). The construction is stiffened with steel bracing (6) welded in place, and connected via wing nuts in threaded bores.
