The function monitoring method uses a pressure-dependent measuring device (18) associated with a venting line (13) coupled to one or more fuel storage tanks, for measuring the venting line flow resistance as a pressure value, with formation of a pressure profile and comparison of the actual flow resistance with the maximum permissible flow resistance.
