According to the invention, several subscriber stations use a channel for arbitrary access in an uncoordinated manner and transmit signals in said channel with a transmission power that corresponds to predetermined attenuation values, whereby said output power is increased for a subset of the first emissions of the signal transmissions. If collisions occur between two emissions that have different reception powers at base station level, at least the more powerful signal can be utilized when there is sufficient difference in power and the emission of the lower power signal alone needs to be repeated. On average, this reduces delays which are produced until said emission is successfully received. |
