The device has a warming unit (13) for receiving air from the surroundings. The warmed, dried air is passed from the warming unit down an air line (15,16) under pressure, to a breathing mask (20) where the air has a temperature of 37 to 43 deg. C, preferably 40 to 42 deg. C. A temperature sensor (19) is arranged in the air line and is connected to a control device which regulates the warming unit.
