The invention relates to a conveyor for garment hangers, comprising an endle ss mechanism (2) disposed inside sections (4) with a longitudinal slot (6) upwards, said mechanism (2) having carriers (8), which project through said slot (6), and said sections (4) having first sliding surfaces (10, 12), whic h are arranged in sucha way that a hanger (7) is positioned essentially at rig ht angles in relation to the direction of advance of the conveyor (1), wherein arranged between two sections (4A, 4B) is a part (30) with a second sliding surface (14) formed in such a way that the hanger can be turned into a position which is essentially parallel with regard to the direction of transportation.
