Inhibitors of the cellular sodium hydrogen exchanger are used for producing a medicament for the prevention of dysfunctions related to a particular age an d of dysfunctional changes of organs in the body, and for the prevention of diseases related to a particular age and for prolonging life while maintaini ng an improved quality of life.
