<p>A reflection liquid crystal display comprising a liquid crystal layer, a transparent insulating layer provided in an optical path of the light incident on the liquid crystal layer and having a refractive index substantially equal to either the refractive index for ordinary ray of the liquid crystal layer or that for extraordinary ray, a reflecting plate for reflecting the light passing through the liquid crystal layer and the transparent insulating layer and incident thereon, first and second substrates opposed to each other and provided on both sides of an optical member constituted of the liquid crystal layer, the transparent insulating layer, and the reflecting plate, wherein the interface between the liquid crystal layer and the transparent insulating layer includes slant portions of substantially the same shape having a predetermined angle of slant to the reflecting plate.</p> |
