PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a polyester film for hologram is provided to obtain multi-layer polyester film of an excellent soft embossing characteristic by improving a hologram characteristic and heat resistance by embossing without fusion of a coating layer with an original plate. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a polyester film for hologram includes the steps of forming a first high molecular resin having a limit viscosity of 0.5-.07dl/g by ploycondensation of dicarboxyl acid containing more than 80weight% of terephtal acid and alkylenglycol containing more than 80weight% of ethylene glycol, forming a second high molecular resin having a melting temperature of 190-220°C by polycondensation of dicarboxyl acid containing terephtal acid and isophtal acid with a ratio of 90:10-72:25weight% and alkylene glycol containing more than 80weight% of ethylene glycol, forming a longitudinally stretched sheet having a crystallization energy of 15J/g by longitudinally stretching after forming a non stretched stacked sheet by air pressing the first and second high molecular resins, and traversely stretching and performing a thermal processing after coating a water soluble acryl resin solution having a molecular weight of 10,000-300,000 on the second high molecular resin layer of the longitudinally stretched sheet to be a thickness of 500angstrom or less when drying.
