PURPOSE: A method for implementing a short rest function in a cellular phone is provided to prevent a transmitting person from transmitting a call when a receiving person is under a state that a reception is impossible, by registering a time interval when the reception is impossible, and sending a voice message if a phone call is received at the registered time interval. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks whether a ring signal is detected via a receiver(301), and determines whether the short rest function has been registered if the ring signal is detected(302). If the short rest function has not been registered, the controller performs a general reception function(304), but otherwise checks that a current time corresponds to the registered time for the short rest function(303). If the current time corresponds to the registered time, the controller connects a communication channel to a voice mixer(305). The controller controls the voice mixer in order to prepare the voice message that guides the impossiblity of the reception and transmit it by several times to the transmitting person(306).
