PURPOSE: A personal computer having a server function, a distributed parallel processing system using it and the management method thereof is provided so that one computer system can be used simultaneously as a server or a personal computer by a personal computer with a server function. CONSTITUTION: A personal computer having a server function, a distributed parallel processing system using it and the management method thereof includes a hardware unit (110), which includes a plurality of central processing devices and a network interface device. An operating system unit (120) manages the hardware unit (110) and supports the server function, which provides a service for request of client through a telecommunication network. In based on the operating system unit (120), a window emulation unit (130) operates the application program for window. A support module for parallel processing (150), interacting with other computer system, supports the personal computer in order to provide a distributed parallel process server function and produces a process for operating the distributed parallel processing. The process and the window application program are operated independently with each other.
