PURPOSE: An open/close apparatus of watching camera for vehicle is provided to open and close a sensor or a watching camera mounted to watch the outside of vehicle. The apparatus is intended to impart excellent operation characteristics and to sufficiently protect a sensing member such as sensor or camera from any exterior impacts. CONSTITUTION: In an open/close apparatus of watching camera for vehicle, a sensing member(10) is mounted in a case(20) of which one side is opened. The open side of the case is opened/closed by a door(D). The door(d) is guided by door guides(40). The door guides(40) are movably jointed with a first guide slot(23) and a second guide slot(24) by joint pin(Pb, Pc), respectively, and may be capable of rotate in a circular arc shape. Also, the door guides(40) may be moved by moving guides(30). Since the driving force from a motor(31) is transferred via a plurality of gear(32, 33, 34) to a gear(35) and the gear(35) is engaged to a rack(26) as well as supported by a moving guides(30), the moving guides(30) eventually moves in a rectilinear motion. The first guide slot(23) is of rectilinear shape. The second guide slot(24) includes a rectilinear portion(24a) like as the first guide slot and a circular arc portion(24b) extended from the rectilinear portion. Therefore, the door guides(40) force to move the door(D) in a rectilinear motion at a predetermined interval by the rectilinear portions of the first and second guide slots(23, 24), and thereafter force to rotate by the circular arc portion(24b) of the second guide slot. Consequently, the door(D) moves in a rectilinear motion at a predetermined interval and then rotate to open the open side of the case after a part of the door comes out from the case.
