REED-SOLOMON DECODER CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: A reed-solomon decoder circuit is provided to increase the integration degree of the decoder circuit by forming a chien search circuit with a few resistors. CONSTITUTION: A reed-solomon decoder comprises a main processing unit(100) which are performing an euclidean algorithm. A memory unit(200) is provided to store the syndrome and data. The reed-solomon decoder also comprises a chien search circuit unit(300) for searching an error position based on an error position polynomial. The chien search circuit unit(300) comprises an anti-log counter. The chien search circuit unit(300) includes a plurality of sub module corresponding to the error position polynomial, a first resistor(430) for storing the values of an adding machine(410), a multiplication machine(420) and the anti-log counter and a second resistor(450) for storing the output data of the adding machine(410).
