PURPOSE: A method for converting an operation between an agent of a communication management network and a management portion of a common object request broker architecture in an ATM is provided to convert a protocol and management information by installing a gateway between a CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) manager and a CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol) agent. CONSTITUTION: A method for converting an operation between an agent of a communication management network and a manager of a CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) in an ATM comprises the following steps. A management object and mapping information are stored by requesting a management operation and management information from a communication management network agent. A proxy management object manager is searched to perform the management operation and the management information. The management operation and the management information are converted and transmitted. The management operation and the management information are performed and the performed results are transmitted. The performed management object information is stored and it is transmitted to a proxy management object manager in the next command.
