PURPOSE: A computer providing function of personal information using telephone located at remote place and method therefor is provided to receive personal information stored in a computer of a user easily using a general wire/wireless telephone. CONSTITUTION: A connecting control unit(22) analyzes a ring-back tone and a dual-tone multi frequency pulsing received through a PSTN(12) and a modem(20) to identify a password of a user and determines a kind of personal information to which the user wants. A personal information database(26) stores personal information of the user. A personal information managing unit(24) analyzes the dual-tone multi frequency pulsing received through the PSTN(12) and the modem(20) according to a kind of personal information determined by the connecting control unit(22) and reads personal information to which the user wants to transmit read personal information to through the PSTN(12).
