METHOD FOR SEARCHING STARTING/ENDING POSITION OF VIDEO TAPE IN VCR

PURPOSE: A searching method of starting/ending position for video tape in a VCR is provided to automatically search the starting position and the ending position of an image signal recorded in the video tape within a short time by using only one key. CONSTITUTION: A key signal for searching a starting position of an image signal recorded in a tape is inputted and a control signal recorded in a control track is detected during rewinding the video tape. When the detected signal is continuously detected over a regular number in a regular section, the rewinding is performed continuously. When the control signal is under the regular number in the regular section, a REW mode is converted to a stopping mode after rewinding for a regular time. When the mode is converted to the stopping mode, the image signal recorded in the tape is played from a stopped position of video tape( the starting position of the recorded image signal) by converting the stopping mode to a playing mode.
