SHORTENING METHOD FOR REGULAR LENGTH OF INDEX

PURPOSE: A shortening method for a regular length of an index word for a retrieval engine is provided to make a lower structure for the index word by reducing an average length and converting a variable length of the index word, and to supply a recording media to read programs utilizing the method via a computer. CONSTITUTION: A method for abstracting a length of an index word for a retrieval engine, comprises the steps of: recognizing whether the index word is included in a reference dictionary via retrieval of the dictionary; if registered in the dictionary, giving the index word a proper serial number and abstracting the word into a specific byte; and if not, calculating a hash function by inputting the index word.
