PURPOSE: A protection apparatus for cathode ray tube is provided to detect the voltage which is turned off quickly and to isolate a high voltage to prevent a spot beam from being generated. CONSTITUTION: A protection apparatus for cathode ray tube includes a high voltage generator(210), a voltage variation detector(220), a cathode ray tube driver(240), a fuse cut detector(250), and a pulse width modulator(280). The high voltage generator(210) generates high voltage for actuating the cathode ray tube. The voltage variation detector(220) detects voltage variation of the output of the high voltage generator(210). The cathode ray tube driver(240) outputs a predetermined voltage to drive the cathode ray tube. The fuse cut detector(250) detects the fuse cut according to the operation status of the cathode ray tube driver(240). The pulse width modulator(280) generates pulse width modulation signal to suppress the output of the high voltage generator(210).
