PURPOSE: A method for setting preferred channel and an apparatus doing the same are provided to check the selected number of the selected channel in a predetermined period of time and to set the preferred channel according to the checked result. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting preferred channel includes four steps. At the first step(201), information on selected channels in a predetermined period of time is recorded. At the second step(202), frequency of the channel is calculated for each channel. At the third step(204), a predetermined number of frequent channels are set according to the output of the second step. At the forth step(205), the predetermined number of frequent channels are set automatically, and displayed on a program guide in a manner different from other channels. |
