METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING DATA SYMBOL OF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting a data symbol of a communication system and a method for the same are provided to reduce the deterioration of the function due to a nonlinear distortion and channel distortion at a receiver, by estimating a distortion sequence and determining a symbol sequence. CONSTITUTION: A bit judging unit(211) determines a received symbol temporally and judges an original bit value to each component of a received symbol sequence. A sequence control unit(212) generates an original type sequence for estimating a distortion of the received symbol, evaluates the similarity between the received symbol sequence and a weighted distortion sequence to determine a new reference sequence, and controls output of sequence based on comparison of the new reference sequence with a sequence. A distortion estimating unit(213) estimates the distortion according to multi-codes and transfer characteristics. A gain weighting unit(214) calculates a weighted value which is multiplied by each symbol of the distortion symbol and then outputs the multiplication value to the sequence control unit(214).
