PURPOSE: A method for controlling turn on/off of the caption capability of television is provided to turn on and off the caption capability automatically according to users' preference. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling turn on/off of the caption capability of television includes six steps. At the first step, a caption broadcasting is received(S20), the caption data is interpreted(S30), and the caption data is displayed. At the second step(S70), the caption is off according to the user request. At the third step(S80), whether the user want audio to be mute is determined. At the forth step(S90), the caption data is display again when the audio is killed. At the fifth step(S100), whether the user wants to restore audio is determined. At the sixth step(S110), the caption data is turned off again when the audio is restored. |
