PURPOSE: A method for controlling sequence of standby printing operations of a printer is provided to improve the usage of a printer by processing a printing operation for a printing file of a smaller data capacity. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling sequence of standby printing operations of a printer includes the steps of determining whether a previously received printing data file is in a standby state or not(110) when a printing data file is received via a communication interface(100), controlling an operational sequence by comparing the data capacity of the files and assigning a priority to a printing data file having a smaller data capacity if a standby printing data file is existing(150), performing a printing operation according to the controlled operation sequence(160), determining whether any printing data file is in printing or not(120) if a standby printing data file is not existing, immediately performing a printing operation of the received printing data file(130) if no printing data file is printing, and putting the received printing data file in a standby state and returning to the second step if any printing is currently performing.
