PURPOSE: A resonant plate for string instruments and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve a resonant effect and the quality of a sound of string instruments by preventing absorption of sound when playing the string instruments by cutting a sponge or older layer from a lumber. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a resonant plate for string instruments includes the steps of first sawing a raw lumber(10) by dividing with a predetermined angle with reference to a center part of the raw lumber to form a first sawn lumber(20), second sawing the first sawn lumber by cutting and removing outer periphery of the first sawn lumber to form a second sawn lumber(20-1) having a plane cut surface(23), adhering the cut surface with another cut surface of another second sawn lumber with an adhesive agent, removing older layers at both side end parts of the sawn lumbers by cutting, and forming the sawn lumbers of which older layers are removed in a predetermined shape.
