PURPOSE: Diagnosis method for arteriosclerosis in carotid which is less expensive than conventional diagnosis using pattern recognition method, simple, fast, and precise as well as able to apply for domestic use because it is possible to make it of small size is provided by determining the energy ratio of the frame having information on arteriosclerosis after wavelet transformation to control frame and using the obtained ratio as a determining value for arteriosclerosis. CONSTITUTION: A diagnosis method for arteriosclerosis in carotid using ultrasound is comprised of the following steps: projecting multiple ultrasound signals in MHz unit to carotid with a certain angle; sampling those reflected signals from blood vessels of carotid while several times of contraction and relaxation in heart is proceeding; performing wavelet transformation on data obtained during a certain relaxation period among the sampling values, using a window with suitable size; calculating the energy ratio of a particular frame having information on arteriosclerosis after the wavelet transformation to the control frame, and; diagnosing whether arteriosclerosis or normal according to the obtained energy ratio.
