PURPOSE: A circuit for preventing an overvoltage of a monitor is provided to prevent the damage of the monitor due to the overvoltage by using a control section and electric power intercepting sections. CONSTITUTION: A circuit for preventing an overvoltage of a monitor comprises a first rectifying section(21), a transformer(T2), a second rectifying section(28), a switching section(23), a PWM controlling section(22), a first electrical power intercepting section(25), and a second electrical power intercepting section(25). The first rectifying section(21) rectifies an AC power source and outputs a DC voltage. The switching section(23) controls the switching operation of the transformer(T2) according to a predetermined pulse voltage.
