PURPOSE: A method for controlling a TV screen in the stop mode of a video CD player is provided to protect the pixel of a TV bran tube and to reduce consuming electricity by displaying the screen as black and by turning off the electric power in case of not operating any operation for a certain period by the stop mode of the video CD player. CONSTITUTION: A playing back mode is operated through a video CD player by the supply of electric power. Then, the establishment of a stop mode is decided while operating the playing back mode. If the stop mode is established, the TV screen is displayed as black. Herein, a timer operates a counting operation after displaying the black screen for blocking the TV electricity after an established period. The screen has been displayed as blue or green while changing from the playing back mode to the stop mode of the video CD player. However, the screen is displayed as block for protecting a certain pixel and for preventing waste of electricity by turning off the electric power of the TV after a certain period.
