PURPOSE: A telephone having a private message transmitting function using a transmitter ID is provided to reject efficiently an unspecified call request and to accept only the message of an appointed transmitting side by executing an automatic answering function for the transmitter ID appointed by a user. CONSTITUTION: A ring signal detection part (2) detects a ring signal supplied through a trunk line connection port (1). A loop circuit (4) executing an interfacing function for overall communication signals comprises a trunk line connection detection part (4a) and an interface circuit (b). A voice data storage part (21) stores voice data into digital code data. A CODEC (Coder-Decoder) (22) outputs data decodes in the voice data storage part (21) to output. An automatic answering storage part (41) stores private messages inputted through a transceiver (5), corresponding to transmitter identifications set through a key input part (26). Comparing a detected transmitter identification with the set transmitter identifications, a microprocessor (42) controls a private message transmitting function.
