PURPOSE: A method for transmitting intraimages in a video telephone is provided to transmit a still image , to enable a receiver to acknowledge the still image and to decode a received image using the received still image as an initial image. CONSTITUTION: A method for transmitting intraimages in a video telephone includes first thru fifth steps. At the first step, a phone number of a receiving part is transmitted and a still image of a transmitter is encoded and transmitted. At the second step, the encoded still image is transmitted repeatedly according to an existence of a tone signal. At the third step, the transmission of the still image is terminated when the receiving part answers, and moving pictures are interframe encoded and transmitted immediately. At the forth step, the receiving part decoded the encoded still image with the tone signal. At the fifth step, the received encoded moving pictures are decoded using the decoded still image from the forth step and a previous image. |
