PURPOSE: A method for providing auxiliary information service using a broadcasting receiver and auxiliary information provider is provided to provide auxiliary information when viewing TV program. CONSTITUTION: A method for providing auxiliary information service using a broadcasting receiver and auxiliary information provider includes four steps. Information service provider transmits auxiliary information to a television with a built-in auxiliary information storage or a set top box. At the first step(S10), auxiliary information data is displayed on television. At the second step(S20), a user transmits signal to the television or a set top box by using key input. At the third step(S40), the television or the set top box receives the signal from the user. At the forth step(S60), input signal is processed and adapted to the auxiliary information data and the broadcasting program.
